Local Boy Makes Funk
Here's something fresh, new and homegrown! The Christian Hernandez Rotation is a brand-new funk-jazz-rock outfit led by 23-year-old Christian Hernandez, a Mission Viejo resident, Capo alum and '09 graduate of the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston. His young group has an energetic, tight and polished sound that's sure to resonate with all types of music lovers. Starting at age 18, Christian (guitarist/composer/ arranger/producer) and his ensemble played the famous Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles four times and opened for David Benoit at the Long Beach Jazz Festival, and Christian was named by KKJZ FM 88.1 as an up-and-coming jazz artist whose career is one of the “Ones to Watch.” The Christian Hernandez Rotation's debut CD 5 for 5 was released in March. Their upbeat set is guaranteed to get people moving and will kick off this year's LMV JazzFest in high gear!
