Southern California Yachting Association.
Lake Mission Viejo Yacht Club (LMVYC) is a member of Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA) which allows our members to sail in regattas at more than ninety affiliated yacht clubs in Southern California and to participate in seminars and educational programs offered by those clubs.
LMVYC also has dining privileges at some of these yacht clubs.
Monthly Regattas:
Seven Club regattas, the SCYA Mid Winter Regatta, and two Invitational Regattas are scheduled throughout the year; each regatta normally consists of three or four races. All Club regattas are held on Sundays. The races are open to all Lake Mission Viejo registered sailboats, including Lake rental boats. Rental boats are available free at each regatta for all LMVYC members. The Club also owns four Sabots and four Balboa 13s which are available for members use.
Registration is at 12:00 noon in the Clubroom.
Non sailing LMVYC members are invited to contact the race chairman about helping on the race committee boat.
Food and Refreshments:
After racing food and refreshments, included with your membership, are provided to all members in the Clubroom.
Duty Officers About once every two years members will be asked to help with food service set up and clean up on a regatta day. With a few exceptions, the hours are usually from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Details of the rotation list will be sent to all members. If you cannot serve on your day you are required to find a substitute from the list.
