BOATING

Lake Association members find excellent sailing conditions on Lake Mission Viejo. There is a rental fleet which includes rowboats, available with electric motors, 14' Capri sailboats, pedal boats, kayaks and party pontoon) boats. All rental boats are available to Association members and their guests for a reasonable fee. Sailing (Yacht) Club information is available at the Beach Bag/Recreation Office. (770-1313 ext. 200)

If you would like to use your own boat on the Lake, please contact the Lake Membership office for boat registration requirements. All members must register their private boats with the Lake each year prior to the initial launching.

Dry boat storage racks and spaces for boat and trailer storage may be rented through the Association. The storage space rental fee is $1.75 per foot per month for Non-Trailer storage (i.e. a 12' rowboat would cost $21.00 per month). The fee for Trailer Storage is $2.50 per foot per month (i.e. 14' sailboat would cost $35.00 per month). All boat storage is billed quarterly.

In the interest of safety and fun for everyone, various boating regulations are necessary and are established by the Board of Directors. Boating will be limited to single hull sailboats, rowboats, electrically powered boats and paddle craft. The regulations limit boat size to an eight (8) foot minimum length and a maximum overall length of eighteen (18) feet for sailboats and twenty (20) feet for others, although the Board of Directors may, from time to time, permit larger boats of varying types on the Lake for special events.
